If you download joomla does it have every thing you need to start and complete an official website with a domain name of your own or do you have to go to GO DADDY .COM for it.
Joomla is a content management system and is nothing like dreamweaver at all. dreamweaver creates websites…. Joomla is already a website. Its a php based website that allows the user to administer the site content using a backend control panel and a database so that you do not have to have ANY programming knowledge. They can also log into the backend control panel and administer the website from any computer connected to the internet.
FURTHERMORE: Joomla is uploaded and installed into your webspace. You then have to associate the program with your database by changing some lines in the config.php file. (somtimes this file is called install.php)
it has nothing to do with domain names. it is used like a prebuilt website template but one that is completely ready to use once it is installed on your server (webspace).

Arthur, joomla is for the rest of us who can customise through choosing from hundrets of products. Why do I have to learn the code man ? I was going to if I had the time and the money but I don’t.
As for dreamweaver ect… can that handle databases like joomla ? I doubt it.

None. Joomla isn’t a quality CMS framework. It is, however, a popular framework and the two can often be confused. Joomla is a triumph of brute-force programming (i.e. lots of open-source contributors and lots and LOTS of code) making an uninspired original design do a lot of moderately useful work. It does not produce W3Compliant code. It does accessibility poorly. It is overdue for a major (i.e. thow the baby out) revision. Typo3 is a better CMS framework but is very hard to learn and is still not elegant or simple. More brute force. There are more than 550 CMS frameworks around and we still await a good open-source CMS. Mostly, you’d do your clients and yourself a favour by using and recommending the Dreamweaver/Contribute solution instead.
how do i change the footer of my Joomla Template?
Usually it is hardcoded, you have to edit index.php manually.
Go to <Joomla_Folder>/templates/<YourTemplate>/index.php and edit this file to edit your footer.

Can i use a template that is not a Joomla Template then design my whole website in expression web, convert the whole website into joomla and then upload the whole thing.

No you can’t do that. joomla is it’s own CMS framework. you can create a ‘template’ of how you want your site to look and be layed out with the Joomla modules but that’s about it.
