Archive for Download Joomla Extensions

I don’t know about Joomla extension, but Wordpess is an excellent piece of software. If you could link to the WordPress blog from Joomla it would be good.

Any Good sites offering free Templates and Extentions/Components / Plugins for free for JOOMLA ??
Even Forums will do….

First port of call will always be joomla.org as all extensions tend to be listed there – thats how people find out about them:

http://extensions.joomla.org

From there most extensions link to their own site / demo page and others simply have a sourceforge development site.

Some have heavily visited forums and a good daily level of support because they are so widely used eg.:
Community Builder @ http://www.joomlapolis.com
or because they adapt joomla to function as a specialist website eg.:
Virtuemart @ http://virtuemart.net

There are many other great sites for ‘empty’ basic templates and extras such as:
Compass Designs:

http://www.compassdesigns.net

or Rocket Themes:

http://www.rockettheme.com

Good luck!

I am very new to joomla and I want to use it as a Event Management portal. Can anybody suggest me which one is the best. Even if there is a good component/extension i am ready to buy.
I have found "event registration pro", "jEvents", but unable to decide which one is feature rich.

If anyone knows the best joomla event management component/extension/module please help me?

Hi,

Unfortunately I do not know about Joomla too much but I have a friend who is an expert and just to solve your query I took his help and I hope the below answer is what you are looking for

This project brings the well known and loved Events Calendar to Joomla. JEvents consists of a Joomfish compatible Joomla component and a number of modules and mambots.

Component
* One-off Events and complex repeating patterns of events can be created and viewed in an attractive calendar and a variety of list formats.
* Events can be categorised and calendar views can be customised to show all or some of these categories

Modules
* Mini-calendar module (events_cal) which gives a quick overview of events which can be placed on any page
* Latest events modue (events_latest) which gives a highly configurable summary of upcoming events
* Events legend (events_legend) – displayed alongside the component gives you a summary of event categories and an easy way to limit the events shown to specific categories

Mambots/Plugin
* A search mambot/plugin that enables the global Joomla search to return results from the events calendar
* Post event report feedback that allows event reports or photo gallery links to be shown in the event detail after a set date

Excellent component, just missing (for me) a module that shows connected user registrations. I did one you can use if you want (quick and dirty hack), available at :

I need to create a contest entry web form for my site and there are a lot of form extensions on the Joomla! Extensions Directory JED page. I’m clueless as to which one to go for. In your opinion, which form builder combines best usability + affordable price? I’m currently running Joomla! 1.5. Thank you!

It’s very relative and depends on your skills. I’ve been using BreezingForms (formerly FacileForms) to create complex, multi-page forms for several websites and it’s great. It’s a really easy to use form generator component and it has an interface called easy mode which might be what you’re looking for. You can use it as module or plugin and I believe it has multi language support too (even thou I’ve never tried it). It’s fairly cheap and I get forum support and updates for free whenever one is released.
