Where I can get joomla 1.5 templates for free?

Can you please explain some more details about templates?
I will suggest you one site from which I bought one template for just $5.

Is there anyone out there who can explain to me in plain english (not geek language) how to find and install a video player into a Joomla template so it will stream flash or quicktime video files?
All the searches I have done show players but little or no instruction on how to install. Everyone ASSUMES the end user knows. I unfortunately don’t. Thanks in advance.

Simple ! you download RPM Movie/ Module Joomla And use it

I am making an online portal for a non-profit non-governmental network of libraries in Honduras. They want the teenagers to have their own area on the site and they want it to have somewhat of a different style that is more appealing to their age group. However, design-wise, I don`t want to make it too different, because it needs to look like it is the same site. I think I will start with the same template as the rest of the site and just modify it a little bit, maybe adding more pictures or brighter colors but keeping the layout the same. Is it possible to have two different joomla! templates for the same site?

Yes, you can have multiple templates per site.

It doesn’t matter what templates you use, so long as they share common module position names for modules that you want to use with both templates.

Make one template the default (probably the one that will be used on the most pages), and assign other templates to specific menu items. Both functions are performed in the Template Manager. It’s under the Site menu in Joomla 1.0 and the Extensions menu in 1.5.

Where can I get professional looking Joomla templates, for free? I dont mind having a ‘Joomla’ text button, nothing big/flashy.

I am going for a gaming theme site, so.

And also, where’s a good place to find free add-ons like members can RSVP for a party and have their name show up as attending.

There are hundreds out there if you Google "Joomla templates free" but beware as a badly designed template can reduce usability and speed – and cool! In technical terms I would recommend using WC3 compliant xhtml / css based templates.

In terms of where to get them, try this site:

http://www.rockettheme.com

and check out this one:

http://www.joomlashack.com/

as recommend her these guys.

Compass Designs is also great for learning the inside story on templates:

http://www.compassdesigns.net/tutorials

as is Rocket Theme:

The place to start with plugins is of course Joomla’s own site:

http://extensions.joomla.org

There is the essential component Community Builder which will reinforce the management of members:

And I would guess that one of the Reservations plugins might achieve the party invite system you are looking for. Just download, install and test out a few and see which gives you the best options.

Good gaming!

Hey,

Does anyone know where I can find a Joomla template that doesn’t have the menu, so it’s more in the style of a sales letter?

Thanks

i love you

I am not rich but i am willing to pay for joomla templates, but i am not sure if i am going to stay in joomla so i hope they give me in html/php/css design code, so if i leave joomla i still have it.
Now i want to buy a joomla hosting template, that once i buy it, no one else can have it. (its actually remove from the list).
So in conclusion if you guys could give me a link for a joomla hosting template and that the template i buy gives me the html/css/psd/php source, so if i don’t use joomla i can still use it.

There are websites which offer temapltes to buy but I would recommend non-exclusive template clubs. They can give you enough flexibility to personalise your site and a wide range to choose from and you can change when you want, for example:

http://www.yootheme.com

or

http://www.rockettheme.com

If you want to try creating your own head over to:

http://www.compassdesigns.net

or

http://tutorials.rockettheme.com

Remember that a template is ALWAYS downloadable and editable by you ;) .

Seem like it is impossible mission. Can anyone find a good website for the free templates of Drupal and Joomla?

i can help out for joomla
goto joomlart.com and see live demo
and select the category at the bottom free templates.
1st u have to free register.

I just installed a new template for Joomla, and I can´t find a way to tell me which placements (top, bottom, left, banner, user1, etc.) are available for this template. I want to maximize my space and I can´t do that without knowing what is available.

There are three ways. The first involves looking at the code to the template itself and trying to discern which placements it supports. Not an easy task if you’ve never written a template.

The second is a little easier and direct. Create a temporary module and set its placements to the various ones that Joomla provides, then note if it shows up or not and how it shows up.

The third is simply to contact the author.

The second option is probably the quickest to use since you don’t have to traverse code or wait for a reply. Plus it helps you find out where the placements are, which can further help you in designing your site.

I’m looking for some semi-pro looking to pro looking free Joomla templates. Something like this site—http://www.mc0004.com/

Help please ?

I couldn’t find template which is looking like this one but see in my site: http://ezine.nachalo.net
There are more than 60 different reviews of free templates and I think that you might like most of them :)
