With Joomexplorer yo can quickly zip up your site and save it locally. With FTP you can download it all directly. Remember that the database needs backing up too using whatever backend database control panel utility (eg. phpMyAdmin) you have installed under your webspace backend (eg. cpanel, plesk). In phpMyAdmin this is done using the Export tab. Select All in the Export selection window and click the 'Save as file' and 'gzip' boxes at the foot of the page. This gzip can be then imported either to a new database on another remote server (web host) or localhost (your PC) in the same utility. If you use the same setup (database name, admin name and password) and you can perform a complete restore with the gzipped database and the zipped website!
