Editing Joomla Templates?
24 Jul 2009
I downloaded this SWEET template to my website which I’m running the CMS Joomla. Check out the template on my website: http://sowhatdesigns.com. Well I want to edit some of the main pictures such as the header that says "art color club" or whatever. Does anyone know how to edit pictures like that from Joomla?!
it is a bit tricky, you will have to open the zip file on your desktop and then find the file that you want to replace. Replace that file with what you want to use and make sure you give it the same name. Upload upload that file to your site using any FTP software when asked if you want to replace the file say yes. Thats it I do this all the time as a matter of fact it my next project!

2009 Jul 24 2there are several way to do this - however the simplest way to do this is as follows:
using internet explorer right hand click the image you want to change - view the properties of it so as you can find the location of it in your joomla installation.
using the right hand click method again save it to your local pc - open it up in your graphics program of choice and customize or recreate it using the same dimensions.
remember to save it as the same name and then upload it to the location as noted in step one
often you will come across problems using ftp and joomla due to ownership permissions - if for whatever reason you can upload the image with your ftp use a joomla component called Joomlaxplorer…. this should be one of the first components you install on any joomla project.
