What would be better to use for a site designer, Joomla CMS with my own Joomla Template, or just a template?

The question basically says it all but I know Joomla has a lot of great features and things you can add to it and change very easily. I don’t know if I should use that or my own template with no CMS (Content Management System). I want to show my professionalism. I’m afraid that if people see the Joomla structure of the site, even though you can change up where everything is placed, they will turn away thinking I’m inexperienced and that I need a CMS. Can someone with enough experience pelase help me. I would really appreciate it.
Best answer would be the one giving me the pros and cons of both and their personal choice.
The answer depends on what you are trying to accomplish by building a website. Are you building a website because you are a web developer and you want to show your web expertise? If so, you should build your own site from scratch so you can show your customers that you can create a professionally looking site.
On the other hand, if you are building a website because you want to write articles on computers and the Internet, then your main focus should be on providing great content. Don’t spend your time creating a professional site if you have no content. Users will still go to your site if you don’t have the best looking site as long as you provide them with useful articles. For example, I use Joomla for my TechColleague site because my main focus is on providing technical articles to my users. I highly recommend Joomla if this is what you are looking for.

2009 Jul 20 2Well using a CMS and doesn’t show you are inexperienced. Moost real intenet marters are turning to CMS type platforms because if you are in the business you learn that ad copy and SEO are what it’s all about. Joomla lets you get right to those issues as with buying commercial Joomla templates you basically ‘outsource’ the graphic design for the $40 cost of the template. Seems there are two groups now doing web design. The graphic artists and the internet marketers. Remeber ad copy will always beat out graphics. Don’t sell CMS short for rapid deployment.
