Joomla templates from PSD?

Can anyone direct me to tutorial explaining how to convert PSD files (photoshop) in Joomla templates? Either that or just explain the process.

    i’ve never used joomla but when i design in dreamweaver, i need to slice my psd files into gifs and then reassemble the gifs in dreamweaver to create a page.
