What are the ADVANTAGES of ‘Vortex Multi-Colour’ template?
I. Multi-Color Support. Anytime you can choose from FIVE colours: Red (default), Blue, Green, Brown & Black.
II. Advanced Functionality. More modules are supported now. Additional grey footer area was added. The grey area is divided to two pre-defined sections - USER 1 and USER 2 (those are contained by default in the Joomla script). These sections you can use to post Latest News, Archive, Polls, etc.
III. More Advanced Functionality. Template’s default TOP area, containing (by default) the Newsflash1 module can be replaced with custom module. The module is located at the top of the banner, the font is white colour.

I have installed and worked on Joomla 1.5, and now I need to work on the previous version Joomla 1.0.15. Find problems on installation in the 1st step, when it ask me:
1. Host name:
2. Mysql username:
3. Mysql password:
4. Mysql database name:
5. Mysql table prefix:

can anyone help me how to fill them? I’ve tried all and the pop up message always: ‘The password and user name provided are incorrect’, over and over again.

I’m using one localhost now: wampserver 2.0 and I put both files (Joomla 1.0.15 and Joomla 1.5) in ‘www directory’ of the wampserver 2.0 by sepparated the folder.

Anyone?

Or..is there any ’step-by-step’ tutorial of how to do it?

Thank’s!

Did you create MySQL database? You can do this using PHPmyAdmin, create a new database with username and password and of course database name. After that, fill the fields with the info of your new databse. Host name should be localhost, table prefix I think there should be something already filled. If not, just put anything.

I’ve found a template that I really like from Wordpress but I want to switch to using joomla. Is it possible to use a wordpress template in joomla? If so, how?

No, as they are 2 completely different CMSs. Unless someone made a version for Joomla your out of luck.

i am designing a page that its body having 1 background but a module left and another right… I created it using 1 large div that contains 2 small ones but the background doesnt work perfectly…
Any other ideas how can i divide the body to two modules with the same background?

While it may not be considered "cutting edge" design, you can certainly use tables to design your template layout. Many templates do. In some cases, it may currently be the only way to get the effect you want.

Perhaps the inner divs had their own background, preventing the shared background from showing through?

Otherwise, more specific information about why the background doesn’t work would be helpful.

plz tell me how to edit an Joomla Template downloaded file suchthat i want to remove their content and i want to keep my own content suchas images , flash etc?

I have www.teech.org (charity website) and I need to display about 100 photos on it. I’m not worried if they are not all on the same page or if its in a slideshow but I need to be able to put a line of code in a article pointing to a folder and the app does the work displaying it.

Oh, and I have no budget so it really needs to be free. I have spent lots of time looking on extensions.joomla but not found anything suitable.

Can you help? Thanks!

Photobucket.com

holds tons of photos, uploads in a few seconds, as well as a ton of editing options

Some more are Splashup.com, Picnik.com, and Photoshop Express, these are more editing sites though.

Hope this helps.

Please I’ve been looking all over the internet for anime Templates and I still haven’t found a single good one…PLZ help me find anime Templates or Templates that I can just replace the top pic with an anime picture

Exactly what are you backing up and what are you using to do it?

With Joomexplorer yo can quickly zip up your site and save it locally. With FTP you can download it all directly.

Remember that the database needs backing up too using whatever backend database control panel utility (eg. phpMyAdmin) you have installed under your webspace backend (eg. cpanel, plesk).

In phpMyAdmin this is done using the Export tab. Select All in the Export selection window and click the ‘Save as file’ and ‘gzip’ boxes at the foot of the page.

This gzip can be then imported either to a new database on another remote server (web host) or localhost (your PC) in the same utility.

If you use the same setup (database name, admin name and password) and you can perform a complete restore with the gzipped database and the zipped website!

All the best,
Mike

PS .bak - this is a classic and widely used extension for backups but it dosen’t really matter so long as the imformation inside is the right type and can be extract once again :-)
